The Gators Are Swimming in 2026 🐊
While the Wellington Green pool is under renovation this year, we are excited to share that the WGRA Gators swim team will continue competing this summer.
Thanks to the incredible support of neighboring pools and the flexibility of the SAIL league, our swimmers will still train, compete, and represent Wellington Green during this unique season.
We are grateful for the families who chose to remain part of the Gator swim team community this summer. Your support speaks volumes about what makes this team so special.
WGRA — We’re Gonna Race Anyway!
Our “Home Away From Home”
For the 2026 season, the WGRA swim team will practice primarily at:
Del Norte / Eastgate Pool
Their team and board have been incredibly generous in welcoming our swimmers and working with us to ensure we have practice space from Memorial Day through Divisionals.
For early season practices, we are also working to secure lane rentals at:
• Westside Aquatic Center
• Eastside YMCA
These indoor facilities will be used May 5 – May 20, allowing swimmers to begin the season in a climate-controlled pool before outdoor practices begin.
Practice schedules will be shared once finalized.
Swim Team Membership for 2026
Because Wellington Green is under construction this summer, SAIL has waived the rule requiring swimmers to hold a family membership at the host pool.
This means:
✔ You do NOT need a Wellington Green pool membership to join the swim team this year.
✔ Families will only need to pay the Swim Team registration fee.
Registration information will be shared soon.
Pool Membership Option at Del Norte / Eastgate
Many families still want a place to swim during the summer.
The board at Del Norte / Eastgate Pool has graciously offered pool membership opportunities to WG swim team families.
Even better, they are allowing WG families to join at their resident membership rate, which is a significant discount.
Important notes:
• Joining Del Norte/Eastgate is completely optional
• Swimmers who are not members may not stay and swim after practice unless they are a guest of a member family
Additional membership details will be shared directly with swim team families.
Joining Another Pool
Because of the renovation year, SAIL is allowing WG swimmers to join another pool and still swim for the Gators this season.
If your family chooses to join a different pool this summer, your swimmer may still compete for the WGRA Gators.
Please note this exception applies for the 2026 season only. Once Wellington Green reopens, swimmers will again compete for the team at the pool where they hold membership, according to SAIL rules.
Welcoming New Swimmers
We will also be opening WGRA swim team registration to members of the Del Norte / Eastgate pool, and we look forward to welcoming some new swimmers to the Gator family this season.

Swim Team Practices
Mondays — Thursdays from 8:30am -9:30am (10 and under) and 9:30am-10:30am (11 and up)
Mondays — Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm-6:45pm (10 and under) and 6:45pm-7:30pm (11 and up).
MicroGator Practices:
Register Here
Mondays and Wednesday from 5:00-5:45pm.
Space is limited for MicroGators, so sign up ASAP! Cost is $65 per swimmer. MicroGators begins June 2nd and ends June 30th. There are 10 (including Meet) days total for the session, with a MicroMeet at the end the season! Swimmers must be WGRA Members and must pay by 1st Practice to hold your place.
