A Message to Our Members
Following multiple permitting delays and a recent inspection by the state (DES), the WGRA Board determined that the existing pool requires significant repairs and cannot safely open in its current condition.
The board carefully considered whether to make temporary repairs to open the pool for one final summer. Ultimately, we concluded that investing substantial time, money, and volunteer effort into a facility that would soon be replaced was not the responsible path forward.
Instead, the board voted unanimously to proceed with the full renovation now. While this means a different summer for our community, it allows us to focus our resources on building a modern facility that will serve Wellington Green families for decades to come.
What This Means for Summer 2026
While construction begins this spring, we want to be transparent about what to expect this year.
For Summer 2026:
- The pool will not open at the start of the season
- Construction and permitting are underway
- A late-summer opening may be possible, depending on construction progress
- WGRA is arranging partner pools so families still have places to swim
We will continue to share updates as the project moves forward.
Swimming Options for 2026
The board is currently finalizing partnerships with nearby pools so WGRA members will still have access to swimming this summer.
Our goal is to ensure that WGRA families can swim at partner pools at rates comparable to Wellington Green membership.

2026 WGRA Membership Registration
If you are planning to use one of the partner pools this summer, please make sure you complete BOTH the partner pool registration AND the WGRA Partner Pool Form so we can properly track participation and communicate important updates throughout the season.
How to Sign Up:
- Join your pool of choice just like a normal membership through their website.
- Complete the WGRA form 2026 WGRA Membership Registration and indicate which pool you are joining.
If you choose to join a different pool outside of our agreements, 2025 WGRA members will still be treated as returning members for early-bird pricing and priority registration in 2027.
Construction Progress
The renovation project is already underway.
Recent milestones include:
- Major hillside work nearing completion
- Active permitting process
- Construction planning and coordination
We will continue posting updates as the renovation progresses.
New Pool Vision
These renderings provide an early look at the future Wellington Green pool facility. The renovated pool will be designed to support:
- Swim team programming

- Community gatherings and events
